Many times, as I reflect on my life over the last several years, I am amazed and very
grateful for the lessons I have learned from my family, friends, and clients. When I meet with people who are seeking
connection with not only their physical, but their spiritual “bodies” there is often a theme that rings true throughout.
I don’t miss the fact that these themes are also a call for me to use my own connection
muscles on a more consistent and mindful basis.
This summer our theme has been laughter. Chris Belanger,
our Laughter Yoga/Meditation guru says that laughter, whether contrived or “real,” is like giving our internal
organs a massage. How many of us are in need of that? I know I am. Whether it is renting a side-splitting
comedy, checking out Demetri Martin on YouTube or watching reruns of I Love Lucy, it doesn’t really matter why we laugh
but that we do. (BTW, my favorite Lucy is the Vitameatavagamin episode).
As we scoot into the last full month of summer I encourage you all
to find time or make time to laugh. Do it for yourself and those around you.
“Knock, knock…
Who’s there?
Ketchup…
Ketchup who?
Catch up with
me and I’ll tell you!”
I
am wishing you joy and hoping to see you soon,
Adriene
